Full Synopsis

Our hero, Scientist Peter Cochran, is convinced by corporate boss Mr. Brand to release genetically altered cows into the environment before they've been properly tested. Dairy products circulate and suddenly a rash of murders are being committed. Reporter Laurie Shallot tries to uncover the mystery behind these murders. She suspects her old flame, Peter, of causing the crisis. Meanwhile, both Laurie and Peter are attacked by their respective Moms. Learning that Mothers are committing the murders, Laurie breaks the news.
Society copes with the crisis. Faced with the horror of MOODS (Maternal Organic Operating Dysfunction Syndrome) people rally together and do what's got to be done — Mothers are rounded up and put in internment camps. Congressional hearings — "Are you now, or have you ever been — a Mother?"
Floundering without Mothers, people are in a panic. Mr. Brand, worried that Mothers — the largest consumer base — are out of the marketplace, enlists Peter to find a cure to MOODS.

Contrary to expectations, the economy flourishes. Unemployment takes a nosedive. Now people are getting paid to do the work mothers did without pay. When a cure is found, Mr. Brand must stop Peter and Laurie from releasing it. No one wants the mothers back
